Background and Purpose of the Study
○ While jobs are considered a key factor in rural population inflow and settlement, there is insufficient research on gender-specific barriers to job participation and alternative solutions. Rural women’s employment is closely linked with the spatially and sexually-segregated labor market structure, which requires separate analysis and alternative solutions. This study aimed to comprehensively identify the current status of rural women’s jobs, which has been studied sporadically, based on the results of research and analysis on the gender structure of the rural labor market and the supply and demand characteristics of rural women’s jobs, and to suggest policy directions and tasks to expand rural women’s participation in jobs based on the results.
