Purpose of Research
○This study examined the pet insurance industry in Korea with the purpose of suggesting strategies to vitalize the industry.

Research Method
○We conducted a review of related literature, statistical analysis, domestic and foreign case studies, interviews and surveys of pet insurance stakeholders, content review through expert advisory meetings, and quantification of survey results.

Main Findings
○Pet insurance refers to actual loss insurance that covers hospitalization, outpatient and surgical expenses in the event of illness or injury to companion animals (dogs, cats). There are various stakeholders in the pet insurance market, including pet owners, governments, veterinarians, insurance companies, and EMR (Electronic Medical Record, electronic chart for veterinary hospitals) companies.
